What is the queerest thing you’ve done in the past year ?

My studio work has been centered around the question/prompt “what is the queerest thing you have done in the past year?”. The driver of this work is my interest in creating works that reflect the day-to-day experience of queer life, with the intention of creating a body of work with a more nuanced perspective of queerness that resists against the increasingly mainstream idea of queer-ness that only focuses on “queer joy”.

My art making process starts with meeting with people from my local queer community, bringing them into my home studio and inviting them to make ceramic works with me.
